21. Change the Wallpaper

The background image on BlackBerry screens that show application icons is known as wallpaper . And like wallpaper on your desktop or notebook PC, your BlackBerry's wallpaper can be set to any image you choose. Even though the wallpaper appears on more than one screen on your device, it is also sometimes referred to as the home screen image . Several images, or pictures, are included by default in every BlackBerry device, and all these images are available for use as wallpaper. You can also download custom images to your device and use them as wallpaper.

1.	Open the Applications Screen Scroll to the Applications icon on the Home screen and click the trackwheel. The Applications screen appears, offering a list of applications you can launch.
2.	Launch the Photo Album Application Scroll to the Photo Album application icon and click the trackwheel. The Photo Album appears with a list of pictures and their thumbnails.
3.	Select a Picture to Use As Wallpaper You can use any of the pictures in the Photo Album as wallpaper that is displayed behind application icons throughout the BlackBerry user interface. Scroll the trackwheel through the list of pictures, and click to select a picture. In the menu that appears, scroll to Open and click to open and view the full picture. Press the Escape button to return to the list of pictures. You can continue viewing the pictures in this manner until you find the one you want to use as the wallpaper. 21. Change the Wallpaper When you decide on a picture to use as wallpaper, scroll the trackwheel to select the picture in the list and click. In the menu that appears, scroll to Set as Home Screen Image and click to set the picture as the wallpaper. TIP You can use your own custom pictures as wallpaper provided that you make them available for download on the Web. You then browse to the picture file using the BlackBerry browser and download it to your device. The picture is stored to the Photo Album , where you can set it as wallpaper. TIP To restore the wallpaper to the default picture for the currently selected theme, click any picture in the Photo Album with the trackwheel and then click Reset Home Screen Image in the menu that appears. See 7 Choose a Theme for more information about changing themes.
4.	View the New Wallpaper Press the Escape button to exit the Photo Album application. You're then returned to the Applications screen, where you can see the new wallpaper behind the application icons. Press the Escape button again to navigate back to the Home screen, or just press the End key.
