Installing a CSS from Media

Installing a CSS from media is advantageous when you have limited bandwidth between your corporate and branch offices to support complete replication changes between your ISA servers at those locations. The replica installation can be completed through employing the following steps:

1. On the existing CSS, create a backup file (.bkf) using Windows Backup to back up only the contents of the ADAMData folder (%Windir%\Program Files\Microsoft ISA Server\ADAMData).

2. Begin the installation of the CSS as described in the section entitled "InstallingConfiguration Storage Server," earlier in this chapter.

3. On the Enterprise Installation Options page, select Create A Replica Of The Enterprise Configuration, and click Next.

4. On the Locate Configuration Storage Server page, type the FQDN of the CSS you want to replicate, and click Next.

5. On the ISA Server Configuration Replicate Source page, choose the option to replicate from a Windows backup file, select the backup file created in Step 1 as your replication source, and then click Next to continue with the remaining steps to complete the installation of your CSS.
