In January 2003, Roland announced a new 24-track workstation, the VS-2400CD, shown in Figure 1.10. The VS-2400CD inherited many of the features found in the flagship VS-2480CD, but it was priced at approximately 30 percent less. Figure 1.10. Roland VS-2400CD digital studio workstation
Highlights of the VS-2400CDLike the VS-2480CD, the VS-2400CD was a 24-track/24-bit workstation capable of sample rates up to 96kHz. The VS-2400CD also provided a VGA monitor output and mouse-based waveform editing and control and, like the VS-2480CD, included a VS8F-2 effect board pre-installed. The VS-2400CD also included features not found on the VS-2480CD, such as RSS 3-D panning and V-LINK for integrating Edirol video products. Here is a list of the highlights of the VS-2400CD:
Software UpgradesIn 2004, a new operating system upgrade was announced, which allowed the VS-2400CD to use the new VS8F-3 Plug-in effects board. |
