Most external hyperlinks point to Web sites or email addresses and consistently include http:// or mailto: at the beginning of the link. Did you know that GoLive automatically adds these parts of hyperlinks in the link field of the Inspector palette? For example, if you assign a link and type www.adobe.com in the Inspector, GoLive completes the address to a fully valid URL of http://www.adobe.com when you press Return/Enter (Figure 43). Figure 43. GoLive intelligently autocompletes http and mailto links in the Inspector. It's a handy little tip that'll save you unnecessary and error-prone typing time. When you need to type the address to servers using other protocols such as ftp:// or https://, GoLive is smart enough to leave those alone and not append the http:// protocol. This works for email addresses, too. If you type email@domain.com into the link field of the Inspector palette and press Return/Enter, Go-Live automatically completes the link as mailto:email@domain.com. |
