Element:
A term used to describe the nodes in an XML document.
Embedded Loop:
A loop executed within another loop (see Child Loop and Parent Loop ).
End User :
The ultimate client user of software. For example, a global Internet user population buying products online, such as on sites like Amazon or eBay. Also the clients and staff of a company who actually use software to perform business functions, such as sales people, accountants , and busy executives.
Entity (DTD):
An entity is essentially a reference, including an escape sequence such as & or an included DTD definition, which has been given a name, and is referenced elsewhere by that name , as in &entity .
Entity (Relational):
See Table .
Event:
Something occurs in an application or a database that causes some process to execute, performing some kind of event responsive functionality.
Expression:
In mathematical terms, a single or multi-functional (or valued) value, ultimately equating to a single value, or even another expression.
Extended XLink:
Extended XLink types establish multiple connections between multiple resources.
eXtensible Markup Language:
The long-winded name for XML. XML is extensible meaning that XML is like HTML, except that XML can have any tag created for it. In HTML, all tags are predetermined and HTML is not extensible or flexible as XML is.
eXtensible Style Sheet Transformations:
This is the transformation aspect of the eXtensible Style Sheets XML language.
eXtensible Style Sheets:
XML allows for creation of any tags, and thus transformations of XML content require a specifically designed and crafted style sheet scripting language.
