Q&A

Q1:

I sent a message with attachments and the recipients didn't receive them. The attachments are on the sent message in my Sent Items folders. What happened to them?

A1:

Sounds like you're using the RTF message format and your recipients aren't using Outlook. Resend using plain-text formatting and verify that the contacts' email addresses are set to the Internet Format: Send Plain Text Only or let Outlook decide the best format for sending.

If you're using plain-text format and the recipients still get winmail.dat attachments, find and rename the NK2 file for your profile, located at C:\Documents and Settings\ username \Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook .

Q2:

When I use the voting option in Outlook, the recipients don't have voting buttons on their messages. What's going wrong?

A2:

This is one area where you need to use RTF for the message format for the feature to work. If you aren't sending the message to very many people, double-click each address and choose Send Using Outlook Rich Text Format.

If a recipient uses the voting buttons but you receive her vote as a normal message, it's an RTF problem. Unfortunately, there isn't too much you can do about it except count the votes yourself.
