Looking Ahead

This chapter is the last of a series of chapters in which you exercised basic techniques for creating ASP.NET Web pages. You ve reviewed quite a number of techniques you ve created controls and programmed event handlers, worked with text files, and learned to use cookies and the Application object for state management. In this chapter, you learned to write to a text file and how to create controls on the fly.

In the next chapter, I ll open up the world of databases for your ASP.NET Web pages. As you ll soon see, the combination of ASP.NET, Web Matrix, and databases gives you the power to create sophisticated Web pages. You ll start by learning the basics of data access in Web Matrix.
