Adding the Soundtrack

Music sets the mood, and for this clip we're adding a music clip aptly entitled, moreanimated.wav. Ohio has brought us great music, including Chrissie Hynde of the Pretenders, Dwight Yoakum, and Devo. More Animated Than Most is a song from another Ohio band, Montgomery Greene, and it adds to the mood of the clip by providing a rock and roll beat and some ironic lyrics to the scene we're creating.

Select the Song and Add it To the Timeline

Click the Get Media from button on the Media panel to access the Get Media from view, if it's not already active.

Select DVD, Digital Camera, Mobile Phone, Hard Drive Camcorder, Card Reader.

When the Media Downloader displays, click the Advanced Dialog button to switch to Advanced mode.

Select the moreanimated.wav clip.

Click the Get Media button. Premiere Elements copies the moreanimated.wav clip from the DVD onto your hard drive and adds it to the Available Media list for this project.

Drag the moreanimated.wav clip from the Media panel and drop it onto the Timeline in the Audio 1 track. Be sure to line up the start (head) of the moreanimated.wav clip with the beginning of the Audio 1 track.

Adjust the Song's Length to Match Movie

Move the CTI 17 seconds in, to 00;00;17;00.

Timesaver

You may want to press the backslash (\) key on your keyboard to view all of the clips on the Timeline in full.

Drag the end of the moreanimated.wav clip and trim it back until it meets the CTI at 00;00;17;00.

In the Properties panel for the moreanimated clip, click on the Fade Out button under Volume.
