This chapter is about applications that add functionality to Dreamweaver. Most notably is Fireworks MX. The tight integration between these two products makes for an efficient Web design studio. We'll also look at other applications such as Adobe Photoshop/ImageReady.
Macromedia has included some features that simplify the process of making changes to images. When developing for the Web, especially for a client, changes always have to be made. It can get brutally time-consuming to open your image-editing application, tweak the graphic, and re-export the image. After exporting, you would then have to re-import it into Dreamweaver. Fortunately, that's not the case you can do all this without ever having to re-import anything into Dreamweaver; in fact, it's much like not having to leave Dreamweaver at all.
To take advantage of these integration features, it's important to have Fireworks MX installed on your system. This chapter also covers how to integrate Dreamweaver with Photoshop, so make sure you have at least version 5.5 of Photoshop installed on your system to complete the Photoshop exercises.
