Summary

This chapter covered two practical implications and applications of PNNI's advanced features. First, node, link, and address summarization and hierarchical organization provide massive scalability to PNNI networks. Second, the class-based awareness present in both routing updates and decisions, as well as CAC subpartitioning, brings enhanced traffic engineering capabilities. This chapter also covered static ATM routing configuration suitable to join two ATM domains.
