This chapter gives an overview of the cdma2000 packet network. The network basically provides two different services, simple IP and mobile IP. This chapter describes the packet network architecture for both services. It describes interfaces of the core network along with the mobility management and QoS functions. It describes some of the main radio functions used for packet data transfer, such as LAC, MAC, and RLP. The chapter describes an e-mail transfer to a mobile client, which is accessing e-mail through a cdma2000 network. |
