Acknowledgments

There are a number of individuals who contributed their time and talent toward the production of this book, and they have my profound thanks.

First off, many thanks to the good people at TechSmith Corporation, the creator of Camtasia Studio. They’ve assembled an amazing piece of software (actually, several amazing pieces of software) that has, in one way or another, been my bread and butter for the past six years. I’d like to send some extra love out to the following people:

  • Betsy Weber, chief evangelist and my main point of contact at TSC regarding the publication of this book. Betsy travels all over creation singing the praises of TechSmith products. She’s the one who provides me with constructive criticism and, occasionally, free swag.

  • Kari Bulkley, project manager, who bears the brunt of all my bug reports and feature requests. And I make generous amounts of both.

  • Troy Stein, Camtasia Studio product manager, who has to endure all my platitudes about the future direction of the product.

And extra super special thanks to…

  • Dave O’Rourke, lead programmer for Camtasia Studio, who has put up with my endless stream of technical questions with equally endless patience. Even my really dumb questions got a comprehensive (yet comprehensible) response. I almost feel guilty for not listing him as a co-author.

There are several other people I wish to thank, including:

  • The folks at Wordware Publishing, especially Tim McEvoy and Beth Kohler. You have been wonderful to work with in making this book a reality.

  • Scott Johnson, creator of Extralife (www.myextralife.com), for graciously agreeing to do the cartoon strips for this book. I’m a huge fan of his work, and having the chance to share some of his strips (created just for this book, by the way) was a real treat.

  • Microsoft PowerPoint MVP Geetesh Bajaj, who took the time to lend a critical expert’s eye to the chapter on Camtasia Studio and PowerPoint.

  • And finally, María José and Rubén, the two best things that ever happened to me.
