MobileDB

If you're familiar with databases, you'll find MobileDB a nimble way to manage large amounts of unwieldy info. Use it to create new lists and databases, revise existing ones, and manage long lists. The databases come premade and you can get new ones online.

Using MobileDB

From the list view of MobileDB, you see the list of available databases. Edit and assign categories in the upper right. Create new databases in the lower left.
Tap a database to open it.

Move around in MobileDB

To highlight a database entry, press the center navigator button. To scroll up or down the database list, press up or down on the navigator. To scroll through an entry's fields, press right or left.

Assign a password

Password-protect individual databases without protecting the whole program. Open the database and select Database > Password. Note that if you sync, the info won't be secure on your computer.

Real Life: MobileDB

Marisa makes soundtracks for movies. She owns thousands of CDs and buys more every week. She uses one of the predefined database templates in MobileDB and customizes it to track her music purchases. At the record store, she looks up song and album titles to make sure she never buys anything she already owns.

MobileDB tips

• Use the navigator to scroll up or down a database ten entries at a time.

• A data field can contain up to 1,000 characters. A database can have up to 20 fields.

• Tap and drag the lines in the header of a database to adjust the width. Sometimes you can squeeze more into view.
