It is our fervent hope and wish that everyone who buys this book in the hopes of starting a home-based business succeeds beyond their wildest expectations. Whether your dream is to make $12,000 a year and hang out with your kids while covering grocery bills and "mad money" for a yearly vacation, or your dream is to create a start-up you can eventually take public with an IPO, we hope you reach your goals.

The realists in us know that isn't going to happen for everyone. Even if you do achieve all your goals, there will be times when the "going gets tough." And just like your mom or dad used to preach to you, it's true the tough get going. Even telecommuters may find times when the home office dream just is not as rosy as he or she pictured.
