• Optimized for the Operating System: The Oracle7 Workgroup Server is tightly integrated with the operating system. Table 6.1 shows the operating system integration support. Therefore, no matter which platform you select, the Oracle7 Workgroup Server is designed to take advantage of the operating system architecture. By providing the client tools, the Oracle7 Workgroup Server is also appropriate for a workgroup with client machines on various platforms, including Windows NT, Windows 95, Windows 3.1, OS/2, and UNIX.
• Easy Installation and Automatic OS Configuration: The one-button installation feature simplifies the tasks for database administrators who need to manage multiple Oracle7 databases. The Oracle7 Workgroup Server meets the needs of the workgroups with various UNIX platforms by providing automatic operating system configuration to ensure that adequate system resources are available to install and run the Oracle database.
• Lower Cost: With all the Oracle7 Workgroup Server features that meet the needs of distributed workgroups, the per- user cost is much less than the traditional distributed client/server systems. The Oracle7 Workgroup Server fits the budget of the distributed workgroup.
• Minimize Training Time: The graphical user interface tools and utilities that come with the Oracle7 Workgroup Server provide ease of use and therefore reduce training time. It also increases the productivity of the users by making the look and feel of the graphical user interface tools and utilities uniform across Windows NT, Windows 95, and UNIX. The Oracle7 Workgroup Server is appropriate for users who do not have extensive database tools and utilities training and who are under time constraints to complete a workgroup project that is developed and deployed across all major desktop and UNIX platforms.
