Summary

This completes the overview of LDAP, ADSI, and COM. Remember that you can access information in Active Directory using either the LDAP API or the ADSI interfaces. Choosing between LDAP and ADSI depends on a number of factors, including which programming language you're using to develop your application, the platform your application will run on, and performance considerations. I recommend using ADSI because of its support of COM. If you are familiar with COM, you'll be able to work with ADSI without much trouble. Now it's time to dive into how to use ADSI to access information stored in Active Directory. We'll start covering that topic in the next chapter.
