In this chapter you will learn to:
Customize PowerPoint s toolbars .
Change the default settings for objects.
Simplify tasks with macros.
Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2003 has many optional settings that can affect either the screen display or the operation of certain functions. You can customize these settings to optimize the way you work and perform tasks. For example, you can change toolbars so that the tools that you use most often are readily found. Or you can change the initial formatting of text that appears in text boxes and of other objects. If you frequently perform a repetitive task in PowerPoint, you can also record the sequence of steps as a macro to automate the task and save time.
In this chapter, you ll customize the PowerPoint screen display to meet your needs. You ll also change toolbars so that the tools that you use most often are easy to find. In addition, you will find out how to customize default drawing and font attributes. Finally, you ll create macros to help you automate a repetitive task.
