Quitting Publisher


You have seen how to use Publisher to create three simple textbased publications . Easy, wasn t it? All that s left is to show you how to end a Publisher session.

Let s use of a menu command to quit Publisher, like this:

1. On the File menu, click Exit .

2. If a message box appears asking whether you want to save the changes you have made to the current publication, click Yes .

Other ways to get help

To access the Help window without using the Ask a Question box, click Microsoft Publisher Help on the Help menu, click the Microsoft Publisher Help button on the Standard toolbar, or press the F1 key. The Contents tab of the Help window displays various topics represented by book icons and their subtopics represented by question mark icons. To display a topic s subtopics, click the plus sign to the left of the book icon. When you find the subtopic you re looking for, click it to display the information in the right pane of the Help window. To access the Answer Wizard, display the Help window, click the Answer Wizard tab, type a question in the What would you like to do? box, and then click Search. When Help displays a list of topics that most closely fit your question, you can double-click one of the topics to display its contents in the right pane of the Help window. If you have a modem and are connected to the Internet, you can access the Microsoft Office Worldwide web site to get information or technical support. On the Help menu, click Office on the Web to display the site s home page.

Here are some other ways to quit Publisher:

  • Click the Close button at the right end of Publisher s title bar.

  • Press Alt , and then press F (the underlined letter in File on the menu bar), and then press X (the underlined letter in Exit on the File menu).

  • Double-click the Control menu icon (the P with the sheet of paper) at the left end of Publisher s title bar.
