6.4 Closing Remarks

This chapter establishes the case that data quality assurance should be a core competency. It describes how the team should prioritize the activities it pursues and how elements of business cases can be constructed.

Data quality projects have their best chance at getting support and being successful if they engage with the hot spots of the corporation. The more they integrate with other business activities, the more successful they will be.

Data quality assurance should not be a function that is outsourced. It is too central to the success of the corporation. Data quality expertise needs to be a core competency.
