ColdFusion MX Server comes in several versions. You should be aware of the differences in these versions before you download the product.

Developer Edition

This edition is free and is most likely the one you want. It functions as a fully featured server for a 30-day evaluation period. After 30 days, this product downgrades itself to answering requests from only the http://localhost address and one remote IP address. This edition is intended for developers and people who want to learn ColdFusion. You can use the product as long as you want, provided you do not use it to publish any "live" sites and you abide by the license agreement.

Professional Edition

This edition is the fully functional, entry-level server product. It is designed to host production Internet or intranet applications.

Enterprise Edition

This version is for large-scale web production environments. It includes all features of the Professional Edition plus enhanced database drivers, added security, and support for server clustering.
