Task 5: Responding to Mail

Display the message to which you want to reply, and click the Reply button in the toolbar.

The address and subject lines are completed, and the text of the original message is appended to the bottom of the reply message.

INTRODUCTION

You can easily respond to a message you've received. Outlook Express completes the address and subject lines for you; you can then simply type the response.

TIP

Reply to All

If the message was sent to several people (for example, cc'd to others), you can reply to all the recipients. Click the Reply All button, type the message, and then click Send .

Type your message.

Click the Send button.

The message is placed in your Outbox and then sent.

TIP

Forward a Message

To forward a message, click the Forward button. Type the address of the recipient, and then click in the message area and type any message you want to include. Click the Send button to forward the message.

When Messages Are Sent

Messages are either sent immediately or placed in the Outbox and sent when you click Send/Rec . To change your send preferences, see Task 10 "Setting E-mail Options" later in this part.
