INTRODUCTION

One change you may want to make to your form is to rearrange the order of the fields it contains. For example, in a columnar table, you might want to balance the fields better by moving one field to another column. Or, you might want to move a label away from its text box to provide more space between the two. You can move a label, the text box, or both the label and the text box.

Click within the label (not on the selection box), and drag the fields to a new location. Notice that both the label and the text box are moved.

To move just the text field, select it, and then drag the selection handle in the upper-left corner of the text field (not the label).

Just the text field is moved. Click the Save button on the Standard toolbar in the main Access window to save the changes to the form design.

TIP

Changing the Tab Order

Note that changing the field order does not change how you move through the fields when you press the Tab key during data entry. To make this change, you must change the Tab order. To learn how, see the task "Changing the Tab Order" later in this part.
