Most people don't like to work with or for someone they consider dishonest or just don't trust. Don't be that person. When you say or do something, be sincere. If you act without sincerity or in a dishonest or untrustworthy manner, you have no right to expect any of your team or your project's stakeholders to act differently. I make no philosophical or ethical point here; it just seems to me that you can't run your project (or indeed your life) if all those with whom you interact feel free to be dishonest with you because you've set them that example. I can't guarantee that your colleagues and stakeholders will all be honest as a result but at least you'll be heading in the right direction.
Tip Treat others as you'd like to be treated yourself. |
