Chapter 15

About This Chapter

Once you have designed the network and selected the hardware you'll need, it's time to proceed with the installation. This chapter discusses how to install network cables and use them to connect your computers with other components to form a local area network (LAN).

Before You Begin

This chapter requires an understanding of the cable types and topologies used in LANs, as explained in Lesson 1: Network Cables, in Chapter 2, "Network Hardware," as well as the basic functions of network interface adapters and hubs, as discussed in Lesson 2: Network Interface Adapters, and Lesson 3: Network Hubs, in Chapter 2.
