Adding and Deleting Line Items

Sometimes you need to add or delete individual line items on a document. To add a line item, follow these steps:

1. Go to the Change: Purchase Requisition : Item Overview screen as you learned earlier in this lesson (refer to Figure 10.1).

2. Place your cursor in the first field of the first empty line item and begin filling in data. (In the case of the sample Purchase Requisition, it's the Material field for line item 3.)

   TIP

   Those Pesky Item Numbers  

   You can skip the Item field and just let SAP R/3 take care of the line item numbers. SAP R/3 proposes that the third line item should be (are you ready for this?) number 3. Unless you have a compelling reason to make it something else, there's no need to change it.

   
   

3. Click the Save tool button to save your requisition with the new line item added.

To delete a line item, follow these steps:

1. In the Change: Purchase Requisition: Item Overview screen (refer to Figure 10.1), click the selection box beside the line item you want to delete.

2. Choose Edit, Delete.

3. Click the Save tool button to save your purchase requisition with the line deleted.
