Pulling the Relational Train

What I describe in this chapter is very sparse in comparison to what SQL Server does to execute the fastest queries and return data quickly to impatient clients. There are a number of collateral processes that take place, and I describe them in later chapters as necessary. You will also be introduced to techniques that can produce more efficient queries that result in faster responses from SQL Server 2005.
