Getting Help

Help! I need some info. Help! Not just any info . Won't you please, please help me?

Man

Before Web pages there were man pages. Don't even get me started. I like the Web, but when you're at a command line trying to remember some bizzare combination of parameters to an application, who wants to wait a minute to start a browser and then go looking for documentation on that tool? Just type

man the-tool-that-bugs-you

and get the info right at the command line. What could be easier?

Info

info is another format for documentation. Some stuff can only be found in info pages.
