Chapter 13: Enhancing index.html using Web Tools

This chapter is a diversion from the core of the WebFacing Tool. In this exercise, you use Web tools, also from Development Studio Client, to update the index.html file. This file, created by the WebFacing Tool, is the starting point for your WebFaced application. You will use Page Designer and other, related tools in the workbench to enhance the index.html page.

The index.html page is very plain. In this exercise, you will add color and pictures to the page to make it more interesting and more appropriate as a Web page. At the same time, you will have a chance to use some of the other Development Studio Client tools. This chapter is separated into Version 4.0 and Version 5.0 exercises because the Page Designer interface has been changed dramatically between the two versions of Development Studio Client.

Goal of the Exercise

The goal of this exercise is to use Web tools to enhance the index.html Web page. You will use Page Designer and other, related tools to perform these tasks , and then test the modified page.

  • Add a heading that moves

  • Add a graphic from the sample gallery
