Although Flash has evolved into a full-featured development platform, it has not forgotten its roots as a vector animation tool. So far we have covered most of the interface, including drawing and stage manipulation tools. This chapter expands on the previous chapter in that we will be taking some of these drawings and animating them in different ways.

But before we jump into animating shapes on the stage, it's important to know where they are going to be animated.
