Perhaps one of the most important areas of any website is its header image. Each page of your website will probably contain this header image, so it will be one of the most viewed images on your site.
In this chapter, you’ll design a graphical header for the Jonathan Bing website while learning about Photoshop’s Pen tools.
Note | In Chapter 1, you learned that vector shapes use lines and curves rather than pixels. These lines and curves mean that vector graphics are resolution independent: No matter how much you increase or decrease the size of the vector image, its lines will remain sharp. Although you can’t save vector images for the web, you can create sharp, complex images with Photoshop’s vector tools, and then save them into .gif or .jpg format. |
With that said, let’s jump into perhaps the best shape-drawing tool in Photoshop, the Pen tool.
