What's Next?

Don't worry if formulas have your head spinning. Just try to work them into your reports little by little. Eventually, you'll find yourself getting the hang of them and the power they can bring to your reports.

If you really want to get good at reporting formulas, check out a good book on SQL programming (some suggested titles are listed in Chapter 15). From there, study Appendix C to familiarize yourself with some of the Crystal Reports functions and operators that are at your fingertips. Follow this path, and you'll become a programming whiz in no time.

In the next chapter, we discuss dynamic reporting and how to put the power of selection criteria in the hands of your report users. Dynamic reporting allows different report users to control the data they wish to view, all from one report.
