Overview

There are many different formatting features in Word. I hope to cover the basics and deal with the problems that can occur with each one. I’ll cover them in the same order that they appear under the Format menu in Word.

I cannot say enough about the benefits of having the Show/Hide option turned on to Show when working with formatting. You can use Ctrl+Shift+* as the shortcut key or click the Show/Hide button, which looks like Figure 6-1 and is found on the standard toolbar:
