Start with Chapter 1, "Certification Steps and Submission Grading," to make sure you get the right assignment downloaded and to get a bird's-eye view of what you need to do. Then proceed through each chapter of the book in order, working through all code examples. Passing the Programmer exam is a prerequisite to taking the Developer exam, so that level of familiarity is assumed. However, I hate reading books that assume too much.
