User Messages

User Messages

Keeping users informed of what the application is doing and providing status messages after each action they take are crucial. For example, if users provide the number of seats they want to reserve and then click the Reserve button (or the Book button), display an informative message about the result. If they didn't type a number (for example, accidentally typed a letter), then tell them so. If they successfully reserved seats, then tell them that. Last, if an error occurred, tell them about it, but in gentle terms. These status messages demonstrate good error handling and how well you do it affects your score.

You must provide status messages to users; if you don't, your score on the GUI portion of the exam will suffer. However, make sure you scrub exception messages before users see them.
