4.2 Entering and Exiting Operational Mode


The following example displays the user named lab logging into the router and entering the operational mode:

 Chicago(ttyd0)  login: lab Password: Last login: Wed Nov 28 18:40:03 from 192.168.161.250 --- JUNOS 5.0R2.4 built 2001-09-25 02:34:13 UTC lab@Chicago> 

After a successful login, you will be at the top level of the CLI operational mode. You can identify this mode by the following operational-mode prompt:

 lab@Chicago>  NOTE:The prompt name will vary and will reflect the name of the current user. In our display the name of the user that has logged in is lab. 

Exit the operational mode by using the quit command:

 lab@Chicago> quit  Chicago (ttyd0) login:
