16.3 Extra Steps


As your Extra Step, I suggest returning to any of the exercises in previous lessons (Lessons 7 and 9 would be especially useful) and experimenting with the settings and methods learned in this lesson.

While you're working, ask yourself:

  • Is this any faster than the first time I did it?

  • Is it any easier?

  • Do I prefer this setting to AutoCAD's default?

  • Do I prefer the basic or Grip method of modification?

Answering these questions will put you on your way to some real expertise with the software!

At this point in your training, you should begin to "customize" the software to your style of doing things. The user interface should begin to reflect your preferences for toolbars and scrollbars; the system variables should reflect your preferences for drawing styles and methods.
