Summary

In this chapter, we've utilized existing web services, which are the hottest topic in web development these days, as well as creating and consuming our own. Hopefully, this gives you a taste for the work it takes to make real sites utilize each other's services. We've just touched on the tip of the iceberg in the functionality we have seen in this chapter and more and more sites out there are enabling third-party use of their functionality through web services each day. There is a huge opportunity for application designers to create sites that utilize these services in new, creative ways – using Web Matrix and web services, you can do this cheaply, simply, and effectively.
