Task Manager
Displays the programs and processes running on a computer. It also displays various performance information, such as CPU and memory usage.
telnet
A text-based command-line tool that allows you to remotely communicate with a host.
template
An object, such as a user or group , that contains configuration information that is applicable to multiple users. Objects for each user can be easily created by copying the template and filling in individual information.
time stamp
The Information Store marks each message with the time and date the message was last modified.
TLS encryption
Transport Layer Security (TLS) encryption is a generic security protocol similar to Secure Sockets Layer encryption.
token
The packet of security information a Certificate Authority sends to a client during advanced security setup. Information in the packet includes the client ‚ s public key and its expiration. A token is similar to a certificate.
top-level folders
The folders found in the root level of a public folder tree.
tracert
A command-line utility that uses ICMP packets to determine the path that an IP datagram takes to reach its final destination.
transaction log
A file used to quickly write data. That data is later written to the relevant Exchange database file. It is quicker to write to a transaction log file because the writes are done sequentially (i.e., one right after the other). Transaction log files can also be used to replay transactions from the log when rebuilding an Exchange database. All stores in a single storage group share the same set of transaction logs.
Triple Data Encryption Standard (3DES)
A newer , more secure, variant of the DES standard that uses three 56-bit keys, one after another, to produce a 168-bit key.
Typical installation
This option installs the Exchange Server software, the basic Messaging and Collaboration components , and the System Manager snap-in program. It does not include the additional connectors.
