Chapter 5 -- Customizing Windows Explorer

[Previous] [Next]

Chapter 5

Windows Explorer is the program that lets you work with the contents of folders, both ordinary disk folders where you store your programs and documents, and special folders, such as Printers or Control Panel. In this chapter, we discuss how you can customize Windows Explorer and the way it displays folder contents. For information about how to use Windows Explorer to work with folders, files, and shortcuts, see Chapter 8, "Using Windows Explorer."

Because the desktop itself is a folder, much of the information in Chapter 4, "Customizing the Desktop," also applies to customizing the appearance of folders in Windows Explorer.
