Chapter 33
This chapter introduces the two text-processing programs supplied with Microsoft Windows 2000. Notepad is a plain-text editor suitable for working with files—such as HTML documents—that must be absolutely free of word-processor formatting data. WordPad is what's sometimes called an executive word processor—a program that's easy to learn and easy to use but lacks the sophistication of Microsoft Word and other full-featured word processors. To find shortcuts to both Notepad and WordPad, open the Start menu and choose Programs, Accessories.
