How to Read This Book

There are several different ways that this book can be read (aside from the usual sitting in a chair and turning the pages). Cover to cover is, of course, the method we recommend, because we introduce themes that get revisited later ”each chapter builds on the previous chapter, to an extent.

Alternatively, if you re looking for a particular theme, it s possible to skip through the book looking for the appropriate icons (see the icon key in the next section).

For example, if you d like to piece together our refactored process (which we describe in Chapter 15), flip through the book looking for the Happy Fangs icons (these tend to be at the end of chapters, but not always).

We ve also indexed all the satire pieces, Voice of eXPerience (VoXP) stories, and Songs of the Extremos, so these will hopefully provide some handy trails through the book.
