Chapter 9. Creating User and Group Accounts

A key part of your job as an administrator is to create user accounts, and this chapter will show you how to do that. User and group accounts allow Microsoft Windows Server 2003 to track and manage information about users, including permissions and privileges. When you create user accounts, the primary account administration tools you use are:

  • Active Directory Users And Computers, which is designed to administer accounts throughout an Active Directory domain

  • Local Users And Groups, which is designed to administer accounts on a local computer

Creating domain accounts as well as local users and groups is covered in this chapter.
