iPods and Photos

note

This chapter really only applies to the iPod and the variant that once existed called the iPod photo (which became the iPod). If you have an iPod with a monochrome screen (such as in iPod mini), you can store photo files on it just like any other computer files, but you can't view or work with them without moving them onto a computer. And since it doesn't have a screen at all, none of the information in this chapter applies to the iPod shuffle.

What does work with photos mean? That means you can

  • Use iTunes to move photos from a computer onto an iPod.

  • View photos on the iPod individually or in slideshows.

  • Use an iPod to display photos and slideshows on a TV.

  • Connect a digital camera to an iPod and move photos from the camera to the iPod, where you can view them (with an optional iPod Camera Connector).

  • Move photos from the iPod onto a computer.
