Appendix A: What s on the Companion Web Site?

The companion Web site contains all the material you need to get each of the chapter games up and running. It is organized by chapter and contains the source code and the executable files. In addition, you will find that for the games requiring art all files are located in the appropriate project directory. You can access the companion Web site by navigating to http://www.courseptr.com/ and typing the book's title in the Search box that is located in the upper-right corner of the page.

The chapter projects on the companion Web site are organized as follows:

  • The Joke Machine

  • Click Race Game

  • The Speed Typing Game

  • Lottery Assistant

  • The Story of Mighty Molly

  • Guess A Number

  • Dice Poker

  • Hangman Game

  • Rock Paper Scissors Game

  • VC++ Doodle

  • Tic-Tac-Toe

You can create each chapter game by copying the appropriate folder to your hard drive and double-clicking the project file. Project files have the same name as the folder and end in the extension .sln. Double-clicking the project file automatically launches Visual C++ 2005 Express Edition so that you can examine the project and make any desired changes.

Alternatively, if you're simply interested in running a chapter program, you can click on its executable file. Executable files have the same name as the folder and end in the extension.exe.
