When you send instant messages back and forth between two users, it's called a conversation. Just as you can carry on real-world conversations with more than two people, Windows Messenger also lets you add other users to your conversation. When you want to have a group conversation, you have to start with a one-on-one conversation. After you've exchanged messages with one other person (and opened a Conversation window), you can then add other users to that conversation. To add another user to an existing conversation, make sure the I Want To… pane is expanded, click Invite Someone to This Conversation, and then select a name. That's all there is to it. When the new user responds to your invitation, his or her messages will appear in the existing Conversation window. |
