CONNECTING THE MODEM

If you're connecting to the Internet via a dial-up connection, connect a cable from your telephone line to the modem in connector on your system unit. Then connect another cable from the modem out connector on your PC to your telephone.

Connect one end of a telephone cable to your wall phone outlet.

Connect the other end of this cable to the modem in connector on the back of your system unit.

Connect a second cable between the modem out connector on your system unit and your telephone (optional).

TIP

Broadband Modems

You can skip this step if you're using a cable modem or DSL modem to connect to the Internet. Wait until you have the rest of your system up and running; then follow the instructions you were given by your Internet service provider.
