Cross-Selling Merchandise

You can also specify which items in your store you want to list on your customers' Bid Confirmation and Checkout Confirmation pages. For example, if you've sold an inkjet printer, you may want to cross-sell inkjet cartridges and paper to that customer.

Follow these steps to create your merchandising links:

  1. Go to your eBay Store page and click the Seller Manage Store link.

  2. When the Manage Your Store page appears, select Manage Merchandising Relationships and click the Continue button.

  3. When the Merchandising Manager page opens, scroll to the Select Where Your Items Appear section, highlight the items on which you'd like to display the additional merchandise, and then click the Add Item button.

  4. Scroll to the Select Your Items to Show section and select up to three items you want to cross-merchandise.

  5. Click the Continue button. To preview your merchandising relationships.

Repeat this procedure to cross-sell different merchandise with other auction items.

The Absolute Minimum

An eBay Store is a way for you to sell more merchandise to your auction customers. Keep these points in mind:

  • An eBay Store is a Web page where you can sell fixed-price items that are not currently listed for auction on the main eBay site.

  • Just about any established seller in good standing can open an eBay store.

  • The Basic eBay Store costs $9.95 per month, plus a five-cent insertion fee and 5.25% of all sales.

  • Opening an eBay Store is as simple as filling out some forms online; just add merchandise and you're ready to roll.
