Viewing Your Documents

Now that you've created a document, let's take a look at it. If you remember, you saved the file in the My Documents folder, so let's open that folder and take a peek around.

Follow these steps:

1. Click the Start button to display the Start menu.
   
   

2. Select My Documents to open the My Documents folder, shown in Figure 4.9.

3. Hover your cursor over the my new file icon.
   
   

4. Information about your file is displayed in the Details panel of the activity pane, and basic tasks are displayed in the File and Folder Tasks panel.
   
   To open this file for further editing, double-click the file icon. This launches Notepad with the my new file file already loaded and ready to edit.
