Chapter 5: Scheduling and Managing Meetings

 < Day Day Up >

Overview

Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 can help you with the often onerous task of organizing meetings. You can organize meetings that happen in a particular place and meetings that happen online. You can view other attendees’ calendars to check their availability. You can send meeting invitations and track attendee responses. And as schedules change, you can update or cancel scheduled meetings.

When another person organizes a meeting, you can respond to the meeting request manually or automatically; if the meeting time doesn’t suit you, you can suggest a different time or date, while ensuring that all meeting attendees are kept up-to-date with the changes.

If you need to keep people other people informed of your schedule, you can publish your Outlook Calendar to the Internet and make it available to colleagues, friends, and family members who need the information. If you don’t want to share all your calendar details, you can publish only information about when you are available and when you are busy.
