About This Chapter

In this final chapter on replication, you will learn how to monitor the replication agents and use various tools in SQL Server to troubleshoot replication problems. You will also learn how to publish data to non-SQL Server Subscribers, replicate data from non_SQL Server databases, and make a publication available for subscription on the Internet.

Before You Begin

To complete the lessons in this chapter, you must have

• Installed SQL Server 7
• The ability to log on to SQL Server as an Administrator
• Completed the exercises in Chapter 16
• Installed the StudyNwind database.
• Installed the Exercise files from the Supplemental Course Materials CD-ROM to your hard disk drive.
• Switched the license mode of the SQL Server version 7.0 evaluation software by stepping through the following procedure.

1. Open License Manager from the Administrative Tools program group.
2. Select the Products View tab and double-click on MS SQL Server 7.0
3. Select the Server Browser tab, choose SQLSERVER and press Edit
4. Select MS SQL Server 7.0 and press Edit
5. Select the Per Seat mode, click Yes to acknowledge the change and press OK
6. Agree to the license agreement and press OK twice to return to the License Manager main dialog box.
7. Close License Manager
